Hokie football begins preseason practice

WOAY – Hear from Virginia Tech head football coach Justin Fuente as the Hokies began preseason camp Friday ahead of the 2020 season.

The practices begin one day after the ACC announced the game days for all 14 football teams, along with Notre Dame. Virginia Tech will play its first two games of the season at home (NC State on Sept. 12, Virginia on Sept. 19), with their one non-conference game coming in November against Liberty.

Fuente says he’s discussed with his team the need to be flexible and patient during this time, but expressed optimism that there are currently practices and games to look forward to.

Also on Virginia Tech’s schedule is a December 5 home game against Clemson, the preseason #1 in the coaches poll. The ACC Championship Game will be held December 12 or 19.
