Hit and Run victim identified in Greenbrier County; suspect in custody

Greenbrier County, WV (WOAY)- We now have new information on a deadly hit-and-run in Greenbrier County.

On Sunday, July 27, the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office reported a fatal hit-and-run after discovering a deceased female in the area near Hines.

Sheriff Bart Baker has now confirmed the victim as 24-year-old Miranda Gray of Charmco.

Gray was struck and killed just before 8 a.m. on Sunday along Route 60 in the Hines area.

The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and began an immediate investigation.

With the assistance of the West Virginia State Police, authorities have now located the suspected vehicle and the driver involved.

At this time, the suspect’s identity has not been released.

Sheriff Baker is thanking the community for its cooperation and says more details will be shared once the investigation wraps up.
