Historic Black Knight welcomes new Director of Golf

RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Landon Perry’s love for golf runs deep. As the new Historic Black Knight Director of Golf, he is thrilled to share his lifelong passion with members and guests.

“To have the chance to shape the culture and future of such a special club is truly a dream come true,” Perry posted on Facebook.

He added that he has big shoes to fill after assuming the position previously held by Micah Davis, who passed away on April 12, 2025.

According to Perry, he intends to exceed Davis’ expectations, grow the game, and create unforgettable golfing experiences.

“I’ve been playing since I was a young kid. My brother got me into it. He was a great golfer himself, a professional at the Greenbrier, so I’ve always followed in his footsteps. He’s my role model, my dad’s my role model. They love the game,” the Director of Golf said.

Perry often plays in tournaments, and the locals know him well. He calls golf love or frustration.

“Everyone likes to chase perfection. And with golf, you’re never going to be perfect. So it always gives you something to strive for.”
