Hinton’s Wild Water Express to open June 13

HINTON, WV (WOAY) –  The City of Hinton began filling up the pool at the Wild Water Express on Thursday.

The city is shooting for the opening date of June 13 to open back up the pool and their water slides.

Mayor Joe Blankenship believes this will be good for the entire community and especially the kids.

“We expect people to really come this year, give them something to do. We’re going to make it safe for people. We’ll honor the social distancing and so forth,” he said.

Blankenship says the pool also employs about 16 young people every summer, so he is excited to welcome them back as well.
