Hinton, WV (WOAY)- Hinton is gearing up for its famous Railroad Days Festival, kicking off on October 10-12.
The Hinton Area Foundation is highlighting the local organizations that contribute to making this celebration so special.
While the Foundation doesn’t fund the festival directly, several of its grant recipients will be part of the event, sharing stories, services, and community pride.
Festival-goers can visit booths from the Summers County Historical Society, which will be showcasing artifacts and local history.
There will also be booths on the scene for the Animal Control and Welfare Project, a volunteer group advocating for animal rescue and education, and the John Henry Historical Park, honoring the legendary steel-driver whose story is woven into Hinton’s railroad roots.
Each organization represents the kind of community support the Hinton Area Foundation works to grow through its endowed funds.
