Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Check out highlights from Saturday’s Shirley Brown Invitational in Beckley. 15 volleyball teams from around the state took part, including six from Southern West Virginia.
Woodrow Wilson and Shady Spring both advanced to the quarterfinal round; the Lady Flying Eagles responded from a game one loss to Cabell Midland to win game two, but the Lady Knights took a close deciding game to advance to the semifinals.
The Lady Tigers faced George Washington in their quarterfinal, with both teams playing a very tight first game before George Washington won 25-23. The Lady Patriots also won game two, and went on to beat Hurricane in the championship match.
