High school baseball league in full swing at Epling Stadium

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – After beginning almost two weeks ago, the summer baseball league organized by the West Virginia Miners and Upper Deck Training Center is now in full swing.

Area teams from several different counties have been taking part, allowing for graduated seniors to play baseball before beginning college, and it’s also a chance for incoming freshmen to see how they currently fare against high school competition. Games are held at both Epling Stadium and Warren Williams Stadium (across from Park Middle School).

Among the teams winning high school games Wednesday were squads from Shady Spring, Nicholas County/Summersville, and Oak Hill. Hear from Nicholas County sophomore Dylan Bell, who recorded an inside-the-park home run in his team’s win.
