Hernshaw Farms successfully renews USDA Mushroom Good Agricultural Practices certification

Kanawha County, WV (WOAY) – Hernshaw Farms has successfully renewed its USDA Mushroom Good Agricultural Practices (MGAP) certification, maintaining its esteemed role as the first and only commercially certified mushroom farm in West Virginia.

Hernshaw Farms is leading the way for mushroom farming in Appalachia by cultivating clean food in some of the most unexpected locations, including a former coal mine and the old memorial tunnel in Kanawha County.

The certification shows Hernshaw’s commitment to daily food safety, traceability, and quality.

In an official announcement, the organization gives a huge thank you to Brenna, whose organization, dedication, and steady leadership helped them reach this achievement with her daily efforts and commitment to the cause.
