Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): The heat ridge will break down and an approaching front will trigger a few showers late this week.
Here’s Chief Meteorologist Chad Merrill’s latest 7-Day Forecast:
Temperatures will soar into the upper 80s again Wednesday. An upper trough will then ignite a few showers during the afternoon on Thursday and Friday. Rain will end before the Friday night football games get underway in the region.
The weekend will be slightly less humid with a threat for a few showers. Temperatures will be cooler. Early next week will be closer to seasonal averages.
Meanwhile, Tropical Depression #13 in the eastern Atlantic will move over very warm water and with very little wind shear, it will become a major hurricane (will be named Lee). The upper trough approaching the East Coast will cause Lee to turn north before any impact to southern West Virginia. It will make its closest approach to the East Coast at the end of next week.
