Bluefield, WV (WOAY) The Rotary Club of Princeton and First Media Services coordinated with WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital to host the Healthy Living Showcase on Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mercer Mall in Bluefield.
The community-wide event will offer free breast clinical exams, free flu shots for the first 50 attendees, local health resources, family-friendly activities, and more.
WVU Medicine’s Bonnie’s Bus will also be on the scene accepting walk-in mammogram appointments on a first-come, first-served basis.
There will also be opportunities for patients to receive annual lab work to check blood sugar, cholesterol, thyroid, liver, and kidney function, as well as blood cell counts and a prostate health screening for eligible men.
The lab tests, which are usually valued at $500, will cost $65 per person at the event, with an additional $20 fee for the prostate health screening.
Event organizers say the tests are important for early detection of potential health problems.
Admission is free and open to the public.
