Health experts encourages the public to go outside and enjoys the outdoors during the coronavirus outbreak.

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – While most people are afraid to leave their homes during this time, health experts believe self-quarantine doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be stuck inside your home.

Fayette County Health Department Administrator Teri Harlon encourages the public to go outside and enjoys the outdoors during the coronavirus outbreak.

“Plan a family hike, even if it’s not something that you typically do, take the time to do those things. Take the dog for a walk. There is nothing that says you shouldn’t be spending time with your family. You can still do that we just don’t want you to be in crowds of people,” said Harlon.

Experts also say outdoor activities, along with walking may be one of the only safe and healthy things to do during self-quarantine.
