LEWISBURG, WV (WOAY) – The Greenbrier Sheriff’s Department has received a new crime scene vehicle, called the criminal investigation crime scene unit.
The vehicle can carry double the amount of supplies and equipment than an average police car. Greenbrier County Sheriff Bruce Sloan says he’s thrilled to have a larger vehicle because before, the department would have to use multiple vehicles to transport equipment to a crime scene.
“It has been a long time in the making. We looked for the right type of vehicle, one efficient room, efficient storage capacity, and we also wanted four-wheel drive for accessibility for remote areas and also a diesel, so it took a while to find the right vehicle,” said Greenbrier County Sheriff Bruce Sloan.
Greenbrier County Sheriff says the vehicle has made the crime scene team members’ jobs more effective.
