Greenbrier Historical Society hosts socially-distanced family day

LEWISBURG, WV (WOAY) – The Greenbrier Historical Society held a socially-distanced family day this weekend.

The Historical Society provided activities like coloring sheets, learning activities and even a farmers market where kids could practice making real-world purchases. According to their executive director Nora Venezky, the Greenbrier Historical Society is trying their best to keep operating and adapting to the pandemic.

“It’s definitely been a bunch of change. We’ve had to make a lot of adjustments. But we are happy to be open doing tours with limited capacity at the North House museum. We’re planning for field trips going into this year with uncertainty of school. But we’re gonna just keep adapting, adjusting and trying to just keep teaching history,” Venezky said.

More educational days for children may be planned in the future as well.
