Renick, WV (WOAY) – A Greenbrier County woman is facing attempted murder charges following a shooting in Renick.
According to a Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office press release, authorities were dispatched to Leanard Long Road around 10:45 p.m. where they discovered 48-year-old Stephen Bennett suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
After conducting an initial investigation and hearing the victim’s statement, the suspect was identified as, 36-year-old, Tyler Truman who also lived in the residence.
Truman, allegedly fired two shots at Bennett, striking him once on the side of the head.
There were five children in the home when the incident occurred.
Child protective services were called to the scene to assist with them.
Bennett has been transported to a trauma center in Virginia for further treatment.
Truman awaits further court proceedings in Southern Regional Jail.
