Greenbrier County Public Library partners on downtown Story Walk

LEWISBURG, WV (WOAY) – The Greenbrier County Public Library has worked with the Greenbrier County Commission, Visitors Bureau and downtown merchants on a Story Walk.

Laminated pages from children’s books have been displayed in windows throughout downtown Lewisburg. The goal of Story Walk is to offer an innovative way for adults and children to read books while being outside.

“It’s the first time that we’ve done something like this, partnering with them,” said Greenbrier County Public Library Assistant Director Christy Carver. “They were so responsive and eager. We had plenty of responses from people who wanted the storybooks in their windows. We think that this is a good way to get the community back downtown and let them see what’s down there. The owners were happy to have something about reading and sharing stories.”

The library is hoping to encourage children to enjoy reading in an active manner through this project.
