Greenbrier County man faces felony charges for failing to seek aid for overdose victim

Lookout, WV (WOAY)-  A Greenbrier County man is facing felony charges in Fayette County. 

According to Sheriff Mike Fridley, on October 15, deputies and EMS responded to an overdose in the Lookout area. 

Emergency services attempted life-saving measures, but the victim ultimately passed away.

Witnesses reported seeing a male leaving the residence shortly before the victim was discovered.  

Detectives were able to locate the male and interview him. 

During questioning, he admitted to using narcotics with the victim but insisted the victim was alive when he left.  

Michael S. Gray, 42, of Rainelle, is charged with the felony offense of Death Resulting from Failure to Render Aid While Engaging in the Illegal Use of Controlled Substances.  

Authorities transported Gray to Southern Regional Jail to await further court proceedings.
