Greenbrier County Homeland Security and Emergency Management shares resources for those in need of shelter

Lewisburg, WV (WOAY) Several locations across Greenbrier County are on standby to serve as warming centers this weekend in anticipation of severe winter weather.

Greenbrier County Emergency Management says shelters will not open until the need arises.

Emergency Management also states that staff are coordinating with local response agencies to open locations as quickly as possible when the need arises.

Officials encourage residents to contact WV211 to locate an open shelter or warming center near them.

Planned shelter/warming locations include:
  • White Sulphur Springs EMS 
  • Rainelle VFD 
  • Williamsburg Community Center 
  • Quinwood VFD  
  • Ronceverte VFD 
  • Clintonville VFD 
  •  Renick VFD 
  • Rhema Life Center 

Emergency Management stresses that these locations are not currently open and will activate when weather conditions allow it.

Anyone in need of emergency shelter or experiencing immediate shelter concerns can contact the Greenbrier 911 Center at 304-799-7911.
