Greenbrier County Health Department provides update on coronavirus

GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Greenbrier County Health Department provides an update on COVID-19 (coronavirus).

The following statement was released:

“At present, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the State of West Virginia.

Greenbrier County Health Department is working closely with County and State officials, Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Greenbrier County Schools, local providers and clinics, childcare providers, and EMS officials to ensure measures are in place to limit the spread of infectious disease within our community.


If you are experiencing illness with fever, respiratory symptoms, or shortness of breath, please seek care from your primary care provider or contact 911 in the event of an emergency.


As a reminder, we are continuing to see an increase in the number of influenza cases in our area. Simple, everyday actions can help to prevent the spread of ALL respiratory viruses. Please continue to avoid close contact with sick individuals and practice social distancing; avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands; and frequently wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
