Marlinton, WV (WOAY) – A river race with a history that can be traced back 3 decades gets underway this weekend.
The Great Greenbrier River Race is held the last Saturday in April each year along the Greenbrier River Trail State Park. The event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. April 26, 2025, in Marlinton WV.
The event is described as a fun, family friendly event/triathlon consisting of a 3-mile run and 4 miles on the river by kayak.
The final leg of the race is a 10-mile bike ride, starting by heading south on the Greenbrier River Trail, then turning back and heading north, finishing at back in Marlinton.
Participants are required to stage their equipment for each leg of the race with shuttle service provided by race officials.
