WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Temperatures are milder this morning, which will result in a comfortable morning commute. However, fog will cause some visibility issues across the region. Drive carefully and use your low beams until the fog dissipates later this morning. Skies will remain mostly sunny, thanks in part to high pressure in the Carolinas. The afternoon will feature temperatures in the upper 70s, resulting in great conditions for everyone to enjoy. If you have any outdoor activities to attend to, today through Wednesday afternoon is the best time to get them done. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the latest:
High pressure will eventually leave the region Wednesday afternoon, which will leave us vulnerable to a front in the northeast. Showers and thunderstorms could start as early as Wednesday night, mainly in the northern portion of our viewing area. The Storm Predication Center has placed a “Marginal” risk in that area, but it is conditional and only indicates gusty winds as a potential threat. If storms come too late, they will be limited by the lack of daytime heat. The front will pass through early Thursday morning and will be the first of two cold fronts we observe this week. Showers continue through the day. Temperatures will not drop all that much, only dropping into the mid-70s Thursday afternoon.
Another cold front is expected to push through the region Friday afternoon, continuing the pattern of rainy conditions. Rumbles of thunder are possible, but most of the activity will come in the form of showers. Activity continues through Friday evening, but will begin to dissipate overnight. As a result, almost all of the rain will be out of our area overnight. The front will take the rain from our area, but it will leave behind quite the chill. Temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s by Saturday morning.

Bridge Day is this weekend, and we are anticipating a cold day. After the morning dip, temperatures will only rise into the upper 40s during the afternoon. On the bright side, conditions are trending in the right direction. Cloud cover will dwindle through the day, allowing mostly sunny skies to develop. Festivities should be able to commence as planned, but you will want to have plenty of layers through the day.
Temperatures will fall even further Saturday night into Sunday morning. A morning frost is expected to take hold, potentially damaging crops. After temperatures drop into the low 30s Sunday morning, they are expected to recover in the afternoon. They will not reach the figures we are experiencing today, but will begin to move towards average. There is good news for those enjoying the warm weather; temperatures are expected to return to warmer values for the second half of next week. Here’s the 7-Day Forecast:
