Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – Governor Patrick Morrisey says West Virginia is set to bring another nine gigawatts of power generation online.
The Governor, speaking at the Gas and Oil Association’s Summer meeting, says it’s a result of the state’s work to expand the power grid to 50 gigawatts by 2050.
The Governor calls it the 50 by 50 energy plan, and says that West Virginia could become the battery for the United States.
In doing so, he said it will improve the lives of all of the state’s residents.
