Governor Morrisey invites West Virginians to annual Rhododendron Roll in Charleston on March 28

Charleston, WV (WOAY) Governor Patrick Morrisey and First Lady Denise Morrisey are inviting West Virginians to the annual Rhododendron Roll.

The family-friendly Easter celebration is happening Saturday, March 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the state capitol complex.

The event will take place on the back side of the Capitol building, between the east and west wings, with photos with the Easter Bunny available at the governor’s mansion courtyard.

Governor Morrisey says he’s excited to once again open the Capitol grounds for a day filled with traditions, activities, and entertainment for all ages.

The celebration includes easter egg hunts starting at noon, divided by age groups.

Other activities include egg rolls every 15 minutes, yard games, a rock wall, crafts, a petting zoo, face painting, bounce houses, and food trucks.

The first 500 attendees will receive commemorative easter eggs, and children who find golden tickets during the egg hunt can win bicycles courtesy of Walmart.

After the event, families are invited to take part in a scavenger hunt inside the state museum at the culture center.

The event is free and open to the public, with parking available at the Capitol Complex garage and Laidley Field.
