Charleston, WV (WOAY) – The Marshall University Board of Governors has a new member with ties to the University.
According to a media release from Marshall University, West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey has appointed Charles R. “Rusty” Webb to the Marshall University Board of Governors.
“I’m so pleased to name Rusty Webb as a board member,” Morrisey said. “His wealth of experience and love of Marshall will serve the university well, as they continue to move toward higher heights.”
Webb is a 1983 graduate of Marshall University where he was a member of the men’s swim team. In 1996, Webb was elected and served four terms in the West Virginia House of Delegates. In 2006, he founded Webb Law Centre, PLLC, in Charleston, focusing his legal practice on personal injury law.
Webb expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve his alma mater in this new role.
“It’s a tremendous honor to return to Marshall in this capacity,” Webb said. “This university helped shape who I am, and I’m committed to ensuring it continues to thrive and grow for future generations of students. I’m grateful to Governor Morrisey for this appointment and look forward to working with my fellow board members to support the mission of Marshall University.”
Webb is married to Robin, also a Marshall graduate, and together they have three adult children. Webb replaces Patrick Farrell, who resigned from the board following his election as mayor of Huntington.
