Gov. Morrisey has declared a state of emergency to provide diesel fuel relief

Kanawha County, WV (WOAY) – Governor Patrick Morrisey has declared a state of emergency to provide diesel fuel relief amid soaring fuel prices in the wake of the Iran War.

The order suspends penalties and inspections for trucks using red-dyed diesel fuel on the road.

Red-dyed diesel is used in off-road equipment and is cheaper than regular highway diesel.

It saves roughly twenty-and-a-half cents per gallon and will be especially beneficial for coal, natural gas, agriculture, and logging trucks.
