Gear Up SWV extends application deadline for Camp Stem to May 19

Beckley, WV (WOAY)- Calling all 7th and 8th graders from Mercer, Monroe, Summers, Raleigh, and Wyoming counties.

Gear Up Southern West Virginia still has spots left for their partnership with WVU Tech for their upcoming camp, and the registration deadline has been extended.

Camp STEM is an immersive premier camp for high school students interested in science, technology, engineering, and math.

The camp occurs from June 16-21 at the WVU Tech campus in Beckley.

The camp is open to 40 students in the gear-up Southern West Virginia cohort on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students will stay in a residence hall for the week, taking various classes, conducting experiments, and exploring STEM careers.

The counselors are upper-class tech students who will stay with students at the residence hall and offer insight into what studying STEM at a college level is like.

The new deadline for gear-up SWV students is Sunday, May 19.

You can register at camps.wvutech.edu/gear.
