Hinton, WV (WOAY) The Hinton Police Department reports that a fugitive wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting is now in police custody.
U.S Marshals arrested 50-year-old Gary Wilson in Clarksburg on January 5.
His arrest stems from an incident that took place around 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16.
According to authorities, officers responded to the area of West End, 14th Avenue, and Temple Street after a vehicle fired multiple rounds while traveling through the neighborhood.
No injuries were reported, but one residence between 14th and 15th avenue on Temple Street sustained property damage.
Officers secured the scene and determined there was no immediate threat to the public.
During the investigation, authorities identified Gary Wilson as the primary suspect and took him into custody.
Police say around 6:00 p.m., Wilson fled police custody.
Wilson faces wanton endangerment, attempted commission of a felony, prohibited person with a firearm, and felony escape charges.
He is currently awaiting further court proceedings in a Summers County Jail on a $200,000 cash bail.
