First Day of Oak Leaf Festival Draws Small Crowd

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): A cornhole game, food and entertainment attracted many local folks to the first of a four day festival.

Today was Day One of the Oak Leaf Festival in Oak Hill. We had fierce competitors for the cornhole tournament. After the cornhole tournament, folks got in line for great food. We have donut boats here, fresh popped kettle corn, and a bunch of food vendors. Today was just the start of the festival. Through the weekend, we’ll have even more food vendors and entertainment here at the amphitheater.

There’s all kinds of groups and all kinds of seventies, eighties and nineties music. We talked to one food vendor who’s been here before and said, this is a true success.

Donald Brooks, owner of Paradise Treats, indicated, “Oak Leaf is one of our favorite advance and we’re very excited about the music they got Saturday night. So, if anybody out there likes the Eagles, they need to come out and listen. We serve funnel cakes and fried Oreos. The sweet stuff is our favorite.”

So once again, come down to Oak Hill for the Oakley Festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The weather will be perfect as well.
