FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Starting August 29th, the Fayetteville High School Alumni Committee will host a desk auction.
Earlier this year, community members got a chance to restore and decorate 30-year-old school desks from Fayetteville High School. The desks will be displayed throughout downtown businesses. Those who are interested will be able to bid a minimum of $45 on the desks of their choice. At the end of September, the committee will announce the winners with the highest bids.
“So what people can do is walk to the local businesses, fill out a form. The minimum bid starts at $45 per item and then people will bid what’s on their hearts,” said committee member Sharon Cruikshank.
All proceeds received from the auction will go towards a scholarship fund.
