Pineville, WV (WOAY) – FEMA is warning West Virginia residents dealing with flood damage of hidden threats.
FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance Teams are going door to door assessing damages from flooding. They are asking residents to beware of scammers posing as FEMA representatives trying to take advantage of people in need.
They’re asking the public to make sure to ask to see proper identification before giving any information. If you’ve registered online or by phone with FEMA, make sure the representative can prove your registration number with them.
