West Virginia (CNN) – If you have some Kirkland Signature smoked salmon in your refrigerator, don’t eat it.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified the listeria-tainted product as a “class one recall.”
Officials say people exposed to this fish will likely suffer serious health problems.
Listeria infection is responsible for roughly 260 deaths per year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The FDA has said no related illnesses have been reported.
The recalled salmon from Acme Smoked Fish Corporation was sent to stores in the southeast late last year.
More information is available on the FDA’s website.
