FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Heritage Festival on the Fourth of July has long been one of the biggest days of the summer in Fayetteville. As of last week, the plan is for that tradition to continue in 2020 in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fayetteville Town Recorder Zenda Vance detailed the plans to hold the parade through town at 2 pm. Following the parade, there will be live music from 3-6 pm and fireworks at dusk at the park on Independence Day.
“We want everybody to be safe if we can keep our social distancing,” Vance said. “If people want to wear masks, that’s fine. It’s their choice. We just wanted to do something so people can still enjoy the Fourth of July in the town of Fayetteville.”
Lineup for the parade will begin at Fayetteville Pre K-8 at 1 pm. Contact the town if you wish to participate in the parade.
