Fayetteville man facing attempted murder charges in Fayette County

Fayetteville,WV (WOAY) – A Fayetteville man is facing felony charges in Fayette County after reportedly firing shots at a woman. 

Sheriff Mike Fridley states deputies responded to a shots fired call in the Jenkins Fork area of Beckwith  just before 8:00am on Wednesday, November 29.

The woman reported to authorities that the suspect told her he intended to commit a murder-suicide before he allegedly fled the scene. 

After obtaining a warrant, The U.S. Marshall Service Southern District CUFFED Taskforces from Beckley and Charleston located the suspect in Dunbar and took him in without incident. 

69-year-old Charles Treadway of Fayetteville has been charged with felony attempted murder and two counts of wanton endangerment.

Authorities transported Treadway to a Kanawha County Magistrate for arraignment.
