Fayetteville cancels July 4th festivities

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – The Town of Fayetteville has voted to cancel all Fourth of July festivities, including the fireworks.

The town announced on Facebook that this includes the activities that will take place on Friday, July 3, as well.

While town officials say it is “disappointing,” they made the decision based on recommendations from the health department  and other local leaders with the safety of the community in mind.
