Fayette County pool closed for summer

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) –  Fayette County Park will not open its pool this summer.

Every year, the pool draws thousands of guests to the park. Local organizations, families and summer camps use the space throughout the season, but this year will be different.

Due to pandemic concerns, the pool will not open in 2020.

“It was very hard to come to that decision because we are one of the only pools in the county,” said park assistant Angel Duncan. “It’s great to see smiling faces all the time and to not have the pool open…is sad.”

The park still offers other amenities such as areas to play basketball and volleyball, hiking trails, catch-and-release fishing holes and playgrounds.
