Fayette County libraries kicks off summer reading program

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY)- Imagine Your Story summer reading program kicks off this week in libraries across Fayette County.

Starting on the 29th, local Oak Hill’s libraries are offering children from 3 to 12-years-old a chance to be a part of their summer reading program. Imagine Your Story summer reading program is a 40-minute session, a few days out of the week that allows small groups of kids to explore books and play games while the library is closed to the public.

“We are going to have games, crafts, and story time. And we’re trying to keep it between 30 to 45 minutes so we can get the libraries up to the public again. We also preparing grab bags so if they can’t come in and participate at the libraries they can get a little bag that has crafts that they can take home,” said Becky Kellum, Director of the Fayette County Public Library.

Kellum says slots are expected to fill up fast and encourages those interested to sign up as soon as possible.
