Fayette County law enforcement agencies conduct “Fayette County Sting 19”

Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – Multiple Fayette County law enforcement agencies combine for joint sting operation.

According to a press release from Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen, on Thursday June 5, 2025, multiple law enforcement agencies came together for a joint operation known as “Fayette County Sting 19.” The operation was initiated by Fayetteville Chief of Police, Ty Hogan.

The purpose of the operation was to target illegal drug activity along U.S. Route 19 through Fayette County being trafficked from surrounding states.

As a result of “Fayette County Sting 19” officers were able to intercept illegal narcotics and cash before they hit West Virginia communities including $19,770 in drug related cash, 103 grams of fentanyl, 12 grams of cocaine (including crack) and 1 gram of Methamphetamine.

The operation also included 4 felony arrests for Possession with the intent to Deliver and numerous simple possession citations for Schedule I and II Controlled Substances, as well as multiple misdemeanor arrests.
