Fayette County Humane Society needs your help to save a dog

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – The Fayette County Humane Society is asking for the public’s help.

On Wednesday, workers found a dog who is fighting for his life, suffering from wounds caused by a fly strike, where flies lay their eggs on an animal, and then the maggots eat the flesh.

Without urgent care, it can turn fatal.

The dog is receiving care at the Fayette Veterinary Hospital.

The shelter said it was quoted up to $700 for his treatment and is asking for your support.
