Fayette County Humane Society Invites You to Share Thanksgiving with Shelter Pets

This Thanksgiving, the Fayette County Humane Society is spreading the holiday cheer to its furry residents—and they’re asking for your help to make it happen.

The shelter is accepting donations of pet-friendly Thanksgiving foods, such as green beans, turkey, pumpkin, carrots, sweet potatoes, and plain mashed potatoes. Staff members will prepare the meals and spend the holiday sharing the feast with their shelter cats and dogs.

If you’d like to prepare the food yourself, the shelter welcomes your culinary contributions as well.

In addition to food donations, the Humane Society is encouraging pet lovers to take part in their Foster for Thanksgiving program. On Wednesday, November 27, you can pick up a shelter dog to foster for the holiday and return them on Friday, November 29—or perhaps decide to make them a permanent part of your family.

For more details on how to donate or foster, visit the Fayette County Humane Society’s Facebook page.
