Fayette County Assessor’s Office hosting Homestead Clinic events starting on November 10

Fayetteville, WV (WOAY)- The Fayette County Assessor’s Office is hitting the road to make it easier for residents to access important property tax services. 

Assessor Tara Tyree announced her office’s schedule for the upcoming homestead clinic, designed to help residents apply for the homestead exemption and learn more about property assessments and tax forms. 

The clinics begin Monday, November 10, at Fayetteville City Hall from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., and Oak Hill City Hall from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. 

Additional stops include Montgomery, Smithers, Gauley Bridge, Ansted, Meadow Bridge, Pax, and Mount Hope throughout the week. 

Residents applying for the exemption should bring a West Virginia driver’s license or state ID, or an award letter from the Social Security Office if applying for the disability exemption. 

Residents who are 64 years old and turning 65 before July 1, 2026, are eligible to apply.
