Fayette and Summers County seeking poll workers for May 12 primary election

West Virginia (WOAY) Fayette and Summers counties are calling on community members to step up and serve as poll workers for the upcoming election on Tuesday, May 12.

Officials say poll workers play a critical role in making sure Election Day runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently for all voters.
Duties include setting up polling locations, checking in voters, guiding residents through the voting process, and helping maintain order throughout the day.
Training is provided, and all workers are paid.
Compensation includes $50 for completing training and $175 for working on election day.
The positions are open to people of all backgrounds and experience levels, and offer a behind-the-scenes look at how elections operate.
