Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – A local animal shelter has more pets than they can handle.
According to a post on the Fayette County Humane Society Facebook page, the shelter is dealing with “Code Red” conditions. Officials with the shelter say over the past couple of days nine dogs have come through their doors pushing the number of animals past the shelter’s capacity.
This is forcing humane society workers to house dogs in crates in shelter hallways and keeping dogs in our outdoor runs for longer periods than normal.
In an effort to help ease the crisis the Fayette County Humane Society will be reducing adoption fees for dogs over six months old to just $35 now through April 12th.
They are asking the public to help by taking a moment and check out the shelter’s adoptable dogs by clicking photos and visiting “Adoptable Dogs of FCHS” or through the AdoptAPet profile linked below. Even if you cannot adopt, sharing this post can make a difference.
