Excitement builds for 2025 Bridge Day

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – For all you daredevils and adrenaline junkies, this one’s for you.

Bridge Day 2025 is almost here, and it’s bigger than ever.

Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, New River Gorge Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Bridge Day’s Tim Naylor says plans are going smoothly.

Vendors sold out in early June, way ahead of schedule, and the iconic event has attracted people worldwide.

“People are really picking up on wanting to be a part of this event,” said Naylor. “We’ve got almost 300 base jumpers registered already for this year, and we’re getting tons of phone calls and emails every day.”

According to Naylor, he signed up a base jumper from China, as well as many from Canada and Europe.

“They’re coming from all over the world to partake in this event,” the executive assistant said. “Base jumping is a small, tight-knit community. Being a national park, they know that base jumping is illegal, and this is the only day that it is legal in a national park. So to knock that off a checklist is pretty high on a lot of people’s lists.”
