We are pretty mild, and have been the past week here in Southern West Virginia. These temperatures are going to come crashing down though, as we head into the next week. Definitely get out and enjoy the temperatures this weekend, as some areas will hit 60!
Once we get into Monday, a cold front will sweep through the area, bringing rain and some backside snow as we head into Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Temperatures Tuesday morning will plummet into the teens behind this front.

Rainfall totals through the next 7 days look below half an inch for most people, some areas will see around a half inch to even more in the locally heavier rainfall. Right now, those areas look to in Nicholas County, potentially spreading further south.

Looking at that full 7 day forecast, temperatures rebound into the 60’s this weekend, before that rain we went into Monday. Tuesday’s high should only reach the mid 20’s as we get the cold arctic air from behind the cold front. Wednesday/Thursday I am not too sure on what impacts West Virginia will have, but the potential exists for a snow system coming through the region. This is something that we are watching for your New Years Eve and New Years Day!
