After a breezy day yesterday, things are calmer today, with temperatures a shade cooler around the region. A chance for very isolated showers and storms is in the forecast for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening before tapering off.
Tomorrow, there will again be an elevated fire risk as the winds pick up again ahead of our next storm system. Humidity will be low as well, so once again we’ll be on the lookout for any brush fires that break out. Remember, that outside burning continues to be banned throughout the state until May 1st.
Saturday and Sunday the weather gets very unsettled as a powerful storm system pushes off to our west and northwest. The best conditions for severe weather are mainly to our southeast, however an isolated strong to severe storm cannot be ruled out. The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the area in the “Slight” risk category for severe storms from Saturday morning until Sunday morning, with the best chance for severe storms occurring between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
After the storms exit the area, there will be a brief cooldown before warmer temperatures return by the middle of next week.
