Early voting begins in Oceana

WYOMING COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Early voters take to the polls in Oceana today.

Town recorder Jim Cook says they saw a few voters cast ballots today. Citizens are voting for a few local offices, including mayor, recorder and five council members.

“Local elections are important because you spend most of your time in the local area,” said Cook. “It’s very important to get representatives in there that know what they’re doing and can do good things. It’s very important that people get out and voice their opinion and vote.”

The polling place at Town Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
