It has been a great Saturday across Southern West Virginia. We will continue to have a small chances for showers over the rest of the weekend. We will then begin to remain mostly dry from Monday through at least Wednesday. There should be a front located to our northeast that has questions regarding our rain chances as we head Thursday and Friday. Some models keep us mostly dry, but some models bring the rain and the European is one of them. While Thursday and Friday shouldn’t be washouts, the potential for rain will exist on both days.
Here is a look at the European rainfall over the next 7 days and as you can see there isn’t much across our area. While we very well could see some people get rain Thursday and Friday, it doesn’t look to be heavy at this time. However, if you’re out and about mainly at the football games on Friday, make sure to leave with your umbrella and rain gear just in case. We will continue to track the weather for Friday as it will change with the latest model data!
Looking at that full 7 day forecast, one of the biggest issues that we will have over this period is the heat comes back. Temperatures will soar to near 90 in many places, and could even eclipse 90 in some. Under mostly sunny skies this will help heat up the atmosphere quite a bit. With the rain chances Thursday and beyond, the movement of the front is the key determining factor on how much if any meaningful rain we get across Southern West Virginia.
