Dry, Fluffy Snow Falling; Beautiful Weekend Ahead

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill): Snow is falling in the area, and it is glistening on the roads and yards of many across the area. This snowfall will continue into tomorrow in bursts, dropping a total of 3-6″ of snow, with more at higher elevations. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

This dry, fluffy snow and cold weather is bringing some issues in travel and plumbing. Make sure to take caution when traveling in the snow and ice, and keep your cabinets open and faucets dripping as the cold air continues to affect our area. However, the dry snow will be easily shoveled and scraped off cars and can make for a great day on the slopes whether you ski or sled. Still, be diligent when traveling, and enjoy the snow!

Friday through Monday will be the extended break we have needed for the entire month thus far, with partly cloudy skies dominating and temperatures rising to the upper 40s by Monday. Please consider helping your neighbors during this break as we recover from the historic flooding event we had last weekend. Tuesday will bring our next rain chance in the evening, with Wednesday continuing the rain and snow in the area. Flooding will be possible again due to the moisture we have gotten all month, and we will keep you updated on next week’s forecast as we get more information.
