It was a pretty active early afternoon for your Friday across Southern West Virginia and we are not quite done with the active weather as we head through early next week. The WPC has placed our western area under a Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall and the SPC has placed our area under a Slight Risk of severe weather for Saturday. Damaging winds up to 60 mph, heavy rainfall and lightning are the main threats with any of those storms. Our eastern area is under a Slight Risk of severe weather as we head through the day Sunday, but the majority of people look to remain fairly dry on Sunday with slightly less rain chances.
Here is a look at the European model rainfall over the next 7 days and it’s definitely much less than we have been seeing over the past few days, but still a few areas could see nearly 2 inches of rain with the most likely time to see that rain falling appears to be Saturday and Monday. There is still a chance of rain nearly every day except for Tuesday of next week and the majority of the day Wednesday.
As we take a look at that full 7 day forecast, temperatures will hover around that average mark again with Tuesday and Wednesday looking to be the main days to go outside and enjoy the weather before the rain potential comes back into the forecast late Wednesday night through at least Friday, although the chances remain low at this current time.
