The main issue for tomorrow’s weather will not be anything ongoing, it will be the front that is approaching form the Midwest into our area. Thursday’s morning commute will be smooth, but that is the calmest it will be for the day. The cold front approaching from the Midwest will eventually make its way into the region by Thursday afternoon. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to last through the night, bringing an end to the calmer weather. Depending on the amount of sunshine received during the morning, a storm or two may become strong. However, the risk for severe weather is currently trending to stay very low. The main concern for our area will be heavy rain causing localized flooding issues. There will be a good amount of moisture to work with, allowing training showers and storms to raise concerns. Despite the system being a cold front, temperatures will not fluctuate much when things are set and done.
Showers and storms remain in the forecast from Friday through Sunday. These will remain spotty even when a second disturbance moves into the region on Saturday. High temperatures remain in the 80s during the afternoon hours. Localized water issues are a possibility as repeat showers move through the region.
