Drug trafficking operation busted in Mercer County by multiple agencies

MERCER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force has conducted a huge drug bust, netting hundreds of pounds of illegal drugs.

A drug trafficking operation was operating in Mercer County, and police discovered that they were supplying crystal meth, fentanyl, and cocaine in West Virginia and Virginia.

Yesterday the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force joined the West Virginia State Police, DEA, ATF, and FBI to execute eight search warrants.

They were able to take 200 pounds of crystal meth, 21 firearms, and 3.76 ounces of fentanyl.

The ongoing investigation has netted 208 pounds of crystal meth which is worth over 9 million dollars, 10.67 ounces of fentanyl which is worth over 30 thousand, and 3 ounces of cocaine, worth over 8 thousand dollars.
